News Clean Water Act 2006 Proclaimed Into Force
2007-07-04

July 3, 2007:  Ontario Minister of the Environment Laurel Broten announced today that the Clean Water Act, 2006, has been proclaimed into force and that the first phase of regulations under the Act is also in effect.  An official notice has been placed on the Environmental Registry and the regulations have been posted on E-Laws.  The Act may also be viewed on the ministry's website: http://www.ene.gov.on.ca/en/water/cleanwater/index.php.  The next several months will be busy as chairs for local source water protection committees are appointed and the committees begin to work on assessment reports and protection plans.  More information on this important legislation will be published on this website as it becomes available over the next several months.
